Bolling Wilson Hotel, Taylor Hospitality Appoints Cecil Childress to General Manager
Cecil Childress is the new general manager of the Bolling Wilson Hotel in Wytheville, Virginia.
Wytheville, Va. (September 2, 2020) - Taylor Hospitality and the Bolling Wilson Hotel in Wytheville, Virginia announce the executive appointment of Cecil Childress to General Manager. In this role, Childress will oversee all aspects of the Bolling Wilson Hotel’s operations, as well as Graze on Main Restaurant.
Childress brings more than 30 years of experience to the leadership team and will oversee operations for the 30 luxury guest room property located in Wytheville, Virginia. “Cecil has shown time and time again his leadership skills throughout his career in hospitality,” said Gregg Krepps, Director of Hospitality at Up to Par Management and Taylor Hospitality. “We’re excited to have someone with Cecil’s experience joining us for the next chapter of the Bolling Wilson Hotel and Taylor Hospitality.”
Prior to joining the Bolling Wilson Hotel and Taylor Hospitality, Childress was the Regional Director of Operations for dpM Partners, LLC of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and the President & General Manager of the Blennerhassett Hotel, a historic, boutique hotel in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Childress has served in a variety of community-related organizations and events such as the Blennerhassett Island Foundation, the Area Roundtable, Downtown PKB, the Taste of Parkersburg Festival, the Parkersburg CVB, Parkersburg Art Center, Parkersburg Farmer’s Market, Parkersburg Actor’s Guild, and the Ohio Travel Association.
A native of West Texas, Childress earned his degree in English Language History and Early Childhood Education from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. After college, he began his hospitality career that has taken him to Houston, New Orleans, and Atlanta, as well as state and national parks resorts in Ohio and Nebraska. He and his wife, Connie, have five daughters and three grandchildren.
